Welcome to the brand new website for our Bargaining Unit! Please be patient as we continue to format and populate the website!
All OSSTF members have a membership number, which provides access to Member-Only information on the Provincial website and Edvantage discounts.
Apply to Education (ATE) is where you will find your daily job openings, as well as postings for LTO and contract positions.
Click here for the OCDSB provided guide. (Updated January 2025)
Your Collective Agreement (CA) is a legally binding, written contract between the employer (OCDSB) and the labor union (OSSTF D25 OTBU) that sets the terms and conditions of our employment. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with your rights and responsibilities contained in this document.
A hard copy of the Collective Agreement should be available in your school's mailboxes - under OT mailbox.
The daily occasional rate for the 2025-2026 school year is $286.28 per day, paid two weeks in arrears.
The pay periods are the same for daily occasional teachers and long-term occasional teachers.
Want to sign up to receive the newsletter and communication from our Bargaining Unit? This is a great way to stay in tune with what the Executive is doing on your behalf, Minutes of Settlement (improvements/changes to the Collective Agreement between bargaining rounds), items of interest from the Provincial Office, and social events the unit or district may be hosting. Communication comes about once per month.
The Board communicates with employees on various HR-Groups, ours being the HR-Occasional Teachers found in your Google "waffle" under groups. Here you'll find reminders and announcements about ATE, job posting timelines and general information. You also have access to see the "HR-Secondary Occasional Teachers..." group, which shows their timelines and announcements.
Looking to find where a Principal or Vice-Principal is being transferred? Check out the "OCDSB Communications Conference" group just before semester change.
As an OSSTF D25 OTBU member, regularly check out our website for updated events and opportunities available to you. Have a question or concern about work? Explore the FAQ section in the menu above or contact us using the emails provided on our About Us > "Your Local Executive" page.
