Scent Awareness Campaign
The Scent Awareness campaign should be prominent in all OCDSB schools. There are some schools with staff (and students) with significant sensitivity to scent. Members should be attending the workplace with minimal scent(s) from washing products and personal hygiene products, including perfume, cologne, hand cream, scented hand sanitizer, etc.

Asbestos Containing Material (ACM)
Some school will have updated their Guest Staff Handbook to reflect that there have been asbestos containing material (ACM) found at the worksite. The Guest Staff Handbook may occasionally be updated with new information regarding health & safety or other items without notice. Please protect yourself by reading through the handbook so you are informed of these updates.
On the right is an example of an ACM notice you may see in one of the school's handbook.

Health & Safety Reporting Guide
The Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee posts all the necessary forms. All accidents should be reported to the school principal. Also send a copy to the OTBU Health & Safety Officer or the OTBU president. If you have questions, contact a member of your unit executive.
